In early 1993, I’d been working away writing 1 minute pieces to introduce each
country, to be set to beautiful pictures from around the country (hence the name
"postcards") and we got a call to say that Enya had been supposed to be doing
the opening credits, but due to work commitments, she couldn’t do it, so would
we get something together. Shae Fitz and I had only days to write, arrange and
record a three minute piece to pictures which were already edited. A day or two
later, Davey Spillane came on board and played pipes and low whistle on the
track. He appeared at the end of the segment, live at the competition.
In 1995, I wrote and produced the postcards again. This time featuring the many
guitar talents of Larry Hogan.
