Music is definitely the first love! Since playing with early bands Wall to Wall,
Boys will be Boys, and Roobarb and the Doodlebugs in the 1980’s, I’ve been a TV
presenter, Keyboard player, writer of music for TV, theatre, and various
projects, and finally a record producer.
I began my TV presenting life appearing on Borderline on RTE in the 1980’s.
Since then, I’ve done a host of shows, including appearing as Ronan Delete with
Zig and Zag on "the Den", and most recently as team captain on "The Lyrics
Board". In the meantime, I’ve played piano, hammond and accordion with the
"Black Velvet Band", written the music for "Over Ireland" for PBS in the US,
composed over fifty sig tunes and soundtracks for TV, Film and Theatre, and
ended up as a record producer, working with the ubiquitous Dustin, Joe Dolan,
(and thus Ronan Keating, Bob Geldof, Boyzone, Gerry Fish, Christy Dignam, Ronnie
Drew, The Saw Doctors, Chill, OTT) Chris Doran, The Irish World Cup squad, Gift,
Emmaus (my own band) and a whole heap more!
As a voice coach, I’ve worked with popstars winners Six, You’re a Star
contestants Simon Casey, Mickey Harte, Chris Doran, Final Four,. Susan McFadden,
and X Factor contestants Mankind and Roberta Howett.
I finally opened my studio (affectionately known as "Rojo’s" ) in 2002,. It’s a
really comfortable room in a Victorian house in Glenageary Co. Dublin, where I
‘ve done three series of You’re A Star (backing tracks, sig tune and stings, and
of course vocal coaching), the soundtrack for "Home for Christmas", Chris
Doran’s number 2 single, "Nothing’s gonna change my love for you", and other
stuff.
What have I been at? Lots!! Hectic but happy. Drop us a quick email if you
feel the urge.
